Frequently Asked Questions

Here you’ll find answers to some of our most frequently asked questions. We still welcome any others - so if you don’t see your question here, feel free to pop us a message!

What happens when I contact you?

When you get in touch, we’ll chat through what kind of service you’re looking for, how many hours you might need, and what the rough cost would be (either a total or per-hour rate).

If it all sounds good, we’ll arrange a visit to meet you in person, assess the space, and give a more accurate quote based on what’s needed. Depending on the service, we’ll then fill out some quick client forms, agree on a start date and frequency — and off we go. Easy peasy!

I’ve never had a cleaner before — what do I need to do?

First of all — nothing fancy! You don’t need to clean before your cleaner comes (that defeats the point!). And trust me — we’ve seen it all. No judgement, ever.

A few handy tips:

    •    Let us know if there’s anything you don’t want moved or cleaned

    •    You can specify focus areas before each clean (via text, note, or in person)

    •    If someone else might be home or dropping by, let them know - it avoids surprises (yes, we’ve accidentally given people a fright before!)

Do I need to be home for a clean?

Not at all. We do recommend being home for the first clean to go over your preferences.

We do however arrange a arrange a quick pre-clean visit so if you won’t be in, you can let us know then. After that, it’s entirely your choice — some clients stay, work from home, pop in and out, or provide a key.

Do you bring your own supplies?

Yes — unless you’d prefer we use yours. We bring our own sprays, products, cloths, mop, and bucket. The only thing we ask is to use your hoover for regular cleans (just to avoid dragging one house to house!).

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

We totally get it - life happens!

    •    Reschedules: Please give at least 24 hours’ notice

    •    Cancellations: Please give at least 48 hours’ notice

This helps us manage our diary and gives us time to adjust other bookings.

How long will it take?

It depends! Every job is different — we take into account:

    •    Size of the home

    •    Type of clean (standard vs deep)

    •    High-traffic or heavy-use areas (like kitchens or living rooms)

We’ll always give a rough estimate during your initial visit. Our standard policy is a 2-hour minimum, which allows time to complete a basic, thorough clean without rushing.

Can I leave a list or change what gets done each visit?

Absolutely! You can leave a list, send a text, or just let us know when we arrive. If you have priority areas that change week to week, we’re happy to adapt - just bear in mind it has to fit within the booked time. If you need extra time, we can always add this on but it is best to let us know in advance!

Do you clean inside ovens, fridges, or windows?

Yes, but these usually need to be booked in advance as they take more time. They can be added on to a regular clean or booked as a standalone service - just let us know what you need.

Do you offer one-off or deep cleans?

Yes - one-off and deep cleans are available, though availability is limited depending on the season. These are usually longer sessions and require more detail, so we’ll discuss your needs during the initial chat or visit.

What areas do you cover?

We are all based within Wishaw and Carluke. So this allows us to cover most of North and South Lanarkshire. If you’re slightly outside that area, feel free to ask - we’ll do our best to help.

Are you okay with pets being home during the clean?

Absolutely - we love pets! As long as they’re safe and comfortable, they can chill while we clean. If they’re a bit nervous or reactive, just let us know and we’ll work around them calmly.

Dog Walking & Pet Care – FAQ

Do you offer dog walking?

Yes — we offer solo dog walking tailored to your dog’s pace and needs. If you have more than one dog from the same household, they can be walked together as long as they’re well-matched and happy to do so. No group walks with strangers — just individual attention and consistency.

Do you walk reactive or anxious dogs?

Absolutely. We’ve worked with all sorts of dogs — nervous, reactive, excitable, you name it. Just let us know their triggers and what helps them stay calm (routine, treats, tone of voice, etc.). Are they food-focused? Do they like walking a certain route? We’ll follow what works for your dog.

What walk durations do you offer?

We currently offer 30-minute check ins, 30 min walks and 1-hour solo walks. If your dog has specific needs (e.g. shorter due to age or heat), we’ll adjust accordingly. Walk time begins when we set off from your home - not when we get in the door.

Will you reinforce my dog’s training?

Yes — we’re happy to reinforce the training and commands you already use, as long as they align with kind and ethical handling. We do not use choke chains, prong collars, e-collars, or aversive tools.

How do you communicate with me?

For dog walking only clients, you’ll get a quick message when we arrive, plus a short update afterwards with a photo or two and a summary of how it went. For package clients we will let you know that we have arrived and at the end of the time, we will update you with pictures and an overall update about the walk and clean. We will always leave out fresh water before we go!

Do you transport dogs?

Not at this time. All walks take place in your local area. We hope to offer safe, secure transport in future (e.g. for off-lead enclosed fields), but for now, everything is on-foot near your home.

Are you insured and DBS checked?

Yes — we’re fully insured for both cleaning and pet care, with a valid DBS check in place. You can request to see proof of either at any time.

Are you trained in canine first aid?

We’ve completed training in canine first aid and carry a small emergency kit during walks. In the event of a serious emergency, we’ll contact you immediately and follow your vet details or preferences.

What if you’re sick or can’t make it?

We’ll always do our best to notify you as early as possible and offer backup support if we can. If it’s not possible to walk your dog on a scheduled day, we’ll let you know and won’t charge for that day.

Do you have a service agreement or contract?

Yes - before regular walks begin, we’ll go over a short agreement that outlines expectations, policies, and emergency contact info. Nothing scary - just a clear, mutual understanding.

Are you GDPR compliant?

Yes. Any personal details, addresses, or vet info you give us are securely stored and only used for the purpose of providing your pet care services.

What if my dog has allergies, medical needs, or behaviour quirks?

Please tell us everything that’s relevant — medications, food sensitivities, things they love or hate. We want to keep them safe, calm, and happy.

Do you feed dogs or give treats during walks?

We don’t feed full meals, but we can give treats with your permission - especially for reinforcing calm behaviour or recall. Just let us know which treats are safe and what you’d prefer.

What leash or harnesses do you use?

We use your dog’s usual harness or lead unless you request otherwise. We’ll never switch their equipment without discussion. If we have concerns about safety or fit, we’ll let you know.

Do you walk off-lead?

No - unless we’re in an enclosed, secure field and have written consent from you. For most dogs, walks will remain on-lead to ensure safety, especially near traffic or unfamiliar environments.

Do you clean up after dogs?

Always. We carry poo bags and dispose of waste responsibly

Can I book a cleaning and dog walk package together?

Yes — you can absolutely combine cleaning and dog walking into one visit, and we’ll tailor it to suit both your home and your dog.

You can choose the order that works best for your dog’s routine:

•    Walk first, then clean while they settle

•    Clean first, then end with a walk to finish on a calm note

• Or even split the time - If you choose, for example, a 1-hour walk and a 2-hour clean, we can split the walk into two 30-minute sessions — one before we start cleaning, and one after we finish. This allows your dog to get their energy out at the start, then wind down at the end so they’re calm, settled, and happy before you arrive home.

We’ll chat with you beforehand to plan the visit in a way that works for both your home and your pet. You know your dog best — we’re just here to make your life a little easier.
